Dear Member of the KTHS/AMCS Community,

 

We are currently in the process of selecting the next principal for King Tech High School and Alaska Middle College. This letter is to help you understand how this process will work.  

 

Two events will occur that involve school community members.  The first is the “characteristics identification” survey that involves the school community, and the second is an Open House to which members of the school community will be invited to meet the new principal of your school.

 

The characteristics survey link is provided with this letter and copies are also available in the KTHS/AMCS  office. Your responses will provide information to the Secondary Education Division and ultimately to the Superintendent about the characteristics your school community values in a principal.   If you choose to submit a paper copy of the survey, you may return it to the school office or the Secondary Education Office located in the Administration Building at 5530 East Northern Lights, or scan to Secondary_Ed@asdk12.org by April 20, 2026.

 

The second part of the process involves all members of your school.  There will be an Open House at KTHS/AMCS in the fall.  At this open house your new principal will be available for you to meet and become acquainted.
