How do I apply for Part-Time enrollment?
- Submit a request to the counselor at your school. All ASD high schools (including ASD homeschools) are eligible to enter student requests for King Tech into Q for the auto-scheduler. This ensures that all ASD students have equal opportunity to attend King Tech.
- If your request is not entered into Q before the auto scheduler is run, there will be another opportunity for your counselor/advisor to submit a request.

What if I am behind in credit or if I want to get ahead? Can I take online classes?
- We do offer a limited selection of online courses. We work individually with students to develop a graduation plan using core credits from cte courses, our academic courses, and online courses to fill in the gaps. However, we are not designed to be a credit recovery school, so we may suggest a part-time enrollment for students who need to complete more than a year’s worth of core credits.
Can I earn college credit?
- Yes. Some courses will earn college credit. Work with the instructor
Can I take classes at AMCS?

Can I be a Full-Time King Tech student and still play sports at my neighborhood high school?

Can I be a Full-Time King Tech student and take a foreign language or JROTC at my neighborhood high school?
- No. Due to the complexity of King Tech’s academic scheduling, we are unable to schedule students in face-to-face core classes in addition to a face-to-face class off site during ASD high school hours. We recommend that JROTC and Immersion students enroll in King Tech as part-time students.

How are King Tech students graded?
-
As in all courses, you will be graded according to the skills you are able to obtain and demonstrate. Test scores, quizzes and the quality of the work and projects you complete in your KTHS course are included in your grade. In addition, you will be graded on your degree of professionalism. Employers indicate that they look for employees who are punctual, reliable in terms of attendance, have a positive attitude, and exhibit good general work habits. These characteristics are often more important than the skill level of entry-level applicants according to most businesses and industries that hire our graduates. Therefore, all courses include a professionalism component as 25 percent of the total grade. This component includes punctuality, attendance, general work habits, and attitude in completing projects assigned whether students work by themselves, with a supervisor or with fellow students on a team.
