Admission Requirements - Full Time/Part Time

ASD Students

Full-Time

To attend full-time, students must be a Junior (grade 11) or Senior (grade12), and meet basic entrance requirements and apply through the lottery system (here).

Part-time

Part time students need not apply. For those students, classes at King Tech are the equivalent of 3 class periods at a regular high school, and earn 1.5 elective credits for successful completion. Credits in math, science, social studies and language arts also may be earned. Students enroll for an AM or a PM class. Transportation is provided from your home high school. If you are a Junior (grade 11) or a Senior (grade 12) and you would like to enroll part-time at King Tech, see your counselor at your home high school to submit course requests.

 

Homeschool/Out of District Students

Part-Time Enrollment

If your student is enrolled in an ASD homeschool program and you would like to submit a course request for AM or PM sessions, please contact your teacher advisor or counselor at your homeschool.

If your student is enrolled in a homeschool program outside of ASD, you will need to submit an Application and a Part-Time Enrollment form to the King Tech registrar, Elizabeth Goetz Goetz_elizabeth@asdk12.org

Full-Time Enrollment

If you are interested in attending King Tech full-time, whether in ASD or not, you must:

  1. ·        Apply through the ASD lottery system. Lotteries are held two times each year.                   Click here for more information and deadlines.
  2. ·        Submit a King Tech Application

Students Ineligible for King Tech courses

The following students are unable to request courses at King Tech:

  • Previously expelled or had an enrollment block on their record
  • Previous KTHS students who earned below the grade of 'C'
  • 9th or 10th grade students

Priority Placement

The following type of students will receive priority placement for courses:

  • Full-Time King Tech students
  • Part-Time King Tech students who have passed King Tech courses with a 'C' or better
  • Seniors will have priority over juniors

3rd Session

The after school program, known as the 3rd session, is available to students in grades 9-12, with no minimum grade requirement. If you would like to enroll or have any questions, please contact your home high school counselor.
